Traditional English High Tea Served at Victorian B&B in Cheyenne, Wyoming
Head out west for high tea? Unlikely but true! One of Cheyenne, Wyoming’s most elegant residences, the Nagle Warren Mansion, is a Victorian B&B built in 1888 and listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. A traditional English High Tea is served from 2 to 4 p.m. every Friday and Saturday afternoon by staff dressed in period costume, continuing a tradition that followed the landed gentry from England to the plains of Wyoming and still lives on in Cheyenne today. Guests are seated in either the parlor or sitting room, surrounded by historic paintings, period antiques and furniture, and a cast brass fireplace that adds warmth and elegance, where they enjoy finely steeped teas served with tea sandwiches and other traditional dessert delicacies.
The menu changes every season — winter, spring, summer, and fall, with a very special Christmas Afternoon Tea served during the holiday season. Menu items are prepared fresh in the kitchen the day of the tea and service is provided by the staff hostess. Among the many menu items are: scones with clotted cream and preserves, pecan tarts, lime curd tartlets, bourbon brownies, pumpkin rum or lavender cakes, and chicken mango chutney or ham and pineapple tea sandwiches. All are served with specialty teas, including the Mansion’s special blend Victorian Earl Grey.,
The Mansion’s traditional high tea is also available for private parties of 12 to 40 people and may be scheduled any day. It’s a unique setting to hold a bridal or baby shower, an engagement party, or for reconnecting with family and friends.
All guests will have a smashing good time in a most ambient Victorian setting, out west in Cheyenne on the high plains of Wyoming, a most unlikely location to enjoy a traditional high tea. Reservations are encouraged to allow for the staff to prepare and provide individual attention to all guests. Libations are also available for purchase.
